Hi Kelly, For very dry skin, try using a creme moisturizer and make sure your cleansers, toners are alcohol free. Also, make sure to cleanse (I prefer a milky cleanser for dry skin), tone (alcohol free) and moisturize (you may want to look at a heavier creme specifically to use at night) twice a day. You may also want to try using a moisture mask two to three times per week. I hope that helps. Teresa
My Question: hi , i have dry skin just now and i have put moisturiser on it and left it for a while , but my skin is still dry and dont have a clue what i should do ?
Skin Care question from Shilpa
Hi Shilpa, Great question - skin care is where beauty begins, I think. First, you should have a good routine including plenty of water, sleep, exercise, good diet and a skin care routine that is performed twice daily. You should determine your skin type. Usually, the categories are oily, oily/combination, combination (oily in nose and forehead after 1 or two hours of moisturizer), combination/dry, and dry. Whatever your skin type is you should find a line of products and purchase a cleanser, toner and moisturizer at minimum. You should also exfoliate, clarify and hydrate depending on your skin type. For example, if your skin is really dry, you should use a hydrating mask 2 or 3 times per week. If your skin is oily, you should exfoliate and clarify (deep cleanses pores) twice a week. The main thing to remember is that whatever you use, the more you stick with your routine, the better the results and if you have a reaction, immediately rinse with plain water and stop using the products and look for a special brand for sensitive skin. This is more common with super dry skin but, not limited to dry skin. I hope this helps you get started. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
hello.............plz tell me beauty tips for skin care ok plzzzzzzzzzzz
Skin Care question from Yelavarthi
Hi Yelavarthi, Whatever color skin you have is beautiful! You must find something about your face to enhance and whatever you don't like, minimize it! For example, if you like your lips but, not your eyes wear red lipstick and not much eye makeup. If you are trying to change the color of your skin, it will not look natural. But, if you still really want to lighten the appearance of your skin, you can try a bleaching moisturizer but, be sure to test a little part of your face first as they can be very irritating. It will take a long time to slowly lighten but, over time, you should see a difference if your skin can tolerate this cream. Using light makeup over dark skin, just doesn't look right. Good luck and I hope this helps. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
my is black how to become white plz tell me a tips
Skin Care question from Christina
Hi Christina, While facials and over the counter products may help, you could try talking to a dermatologist as there are both oral and topical medications that may help. If that's not an option, try another brand of skin care that is designed specifically for breakouts. This may be something you will eventually outgrow, as well. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
Since Ive been 12 Ive had black heads Ive tried everything. i exfoliate, wash twice a day, and mask they keep coming back even when i steam. Are facials the only answer?
SKIN CARE question from Nalini
Hi Nalini, For oily skin, I recommend that you get a good skin care regimen and use it regularly, twice a day. This means cleanse your face, use a toner with a mild cosmetic alcohol, and follow up with a moisturizer specifically for oily skin. Use a clay mask for deep cleansing at least twice a week and an exfoliater to remove dead skin cells a couple of times a week, as well. For makeup, I usually recommend mineral makeup powder. Many brands are all natural, talc-free, contain a natural sunscreen, are gentle and give a nice matte look. They are typically sold with a primer to use before you apply the makeup and a special kabuki brush for the application. To get the desired coverage, apply in layers. Another great product for oily skin is blotting papers. They are powdered on one side to absorb oil throughout the day. Good luck, Nalini, I hope these suggestions will help. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
hi my face is an oily face then my face becomes black with sweat please give me a nice tip to overcome from this problem
SKIN CARE question from Morgan
Hi Morgan, Great question but, very frustrating for you, I'm sure! I would definitely recommend a mineral makeup for you. They are non-occlusive so, they won't block pores and most are all natural. Dermatologists have been using them for years on their patients and like the fact that they have proven to be virtually allergy-free. You may also get the desired coverage - light, medium or heavy, simply with the application. You can use it with/without moisturizer however, I always recommend that you use good skin care under any foundation. Your skin care could be the source of your problem, as well. Try just wearing your moisturizer without your makeup to see if this is the culprit. If it is, change that and try it with your current foundation. It could even be your cleanser or toner. Soaps can be very irritating to the skin and if you are using a toner with alcohol, this could cause sensitivity and breakouts. If you have tested all of the above and can't figure it out, just try using a mineral makeup as I suggested before. (If you choose a mineral makeup, do get the coordinating primer, brush, and have the application explained to you in detail.) I hope to have a e-store here soon - to have these items available for purchase - stay tuned. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
I don't get acne, but with foundations and any moisturizer, I will get pimples, how can I get that glowing, smooth, moisturized skin without the pimples?
SKIN CARE question from Leah
Hi Leah, That must be so frustrating! Unfortunately, acne can be caused by many factors. I could offer up a couple of suggestions: You could try alternating these products, since they work for about a week, try switching brands every 5 or so days. Maybe you can trick your skin. If you are using a foundation, try an all natural mineral makeup. It has proven to be especially helpful to skin that is prone to acne and also allergies. Another possibility is that you are having a reaction to a soap, toner, moisturizer or makeup you are using. Sometimes, these reactions appear like acne on the surface of the skin. Probably the best suggestion is to see a professional, a dermatologist. Before seeing a dermatologist, think about the onset of the problem and bring this information to him/her: When did the acne start - puberty, pregnancy, other hormonal changes? Any over-the-top stress added to your life recently? New products tried? Any change in diet - more chocolate, greasy foods? Did your parents or siblings have these problems? Last but not least, I am looking into a new line that was specifically designed by a good dermatologist and I'm hearing good results about it. Stay tuned for our new e-store. Thanks for your question. Teresa
MY QUESTION:

SKIN CARE question from Sherry
Hi Sherry, There are many creams with whiteners in them that will fade age spots. If you are prone to break-outs, ask for a sample first to see if you can use them. We have some great products coming on this site - so check back soon!
MY QUESTION:
How do you fade age spots on your face?
SKIN CARE question from Connie
Hi Connie, The best solution would be to find the right skin care for your complexion. There are lots of brands out there, some work better than others. Each person's skin is, of course, unique to them so, it really may be a matter of trying different products before finding one that works best for you. To start, find a good cleanser. I prefer a gel with low or no suds for the morning so, you can start with a squeaky clean face. Then, a good toner preferably without alcohol so, you don't take out the moisture while trying to control the oil. Then, get a good daytime moisturizer with matifying ingredients like Kaolin Clay. For nighttime, use a good milky cleanser (they remove makeup better than a gel cleanser), then your toner again. Get a nighttime oil-control moisturizer because at night when your skin is regenerating itself is the best time to use repair type products. Also, use an exfoliator with gentle natural particles (like seaweed) at least twice a week focusing on the t-zone. A clay clarifying mask is good a couple of times a week, too, for deep cleansing. If you haven't tried a powdered mineral makeup, I would highly recommend this for you. They have proven to be less irritating to the skin and plastic surgeons and dermatologists have been recommending them for years to their patients that have breakouts, acne or even after laser treatments. You can get the coverage you want by simply reapplying it over and over until you've reached the desired coverage. Be sure to get the brush that is recommended with the product. It really does matter and they also usually come with a primer that helps to hold the powder in place. If your want to conceal those "scars" until they have completely healed, use a good concealer (non-comedigenic so, it won't clog your pores) then, apply your foundation or mineral makeup over it. Good luck and let me know how it goes! Teresa
MY QUESTION:
I have an oily skin (T-zone) and constantly have breakouts/pimples. Due to this, it causes scars that take sometime to heal on my face. Pls advice. Thank you.
SKIN CARE question from Jackie
Hi Jackie, To keep pores minimized and blackheads in check, a good skin care regimen is key. Always wash your face at night. Morning and evening you should always cleanse (I like a milky cleanser at night to remove the makeup and a gel cleanser in the morning so, I have squeaky clean skin before I apply my moisturizer and foundation), use a toner (non-alcohol is preferred) and a good moisturizer (use a moisturizer for normal/oily skin type). For really deep cleansing, use a clay or gel clarifying mask a couple of nights a week. You may want to use an exfoliator a couple of mornings to remove any dead skin cells. (As a bonus, the exfoliator will give your foundation a more even look because the makeup won't cling to the dead skin cells making your foundation look patchy.) If you are still having problems, check with your dermatologist. This could be something like stress, change in eating habits, etc. Thanks for writing in and do check back. We hope to have products to recommend soon! Teresa
MY QUESTION:
I've never really had bad skin, but lately I have huge pores and blackheads can't get rid of them! Please help.
SKIN CARE question from Priya
Hi Priya, Thanks for your question! There are many things that can cause pimples, oily skin, etc. It could be diet, stress, hormonal, or a host of other causes. I would first check with a doctor or dermatologist. There are also other things you can do to help reduce the appearance of oil and to diminish pimples. Make sure you are eating a healthy diet rich in vegetables, fibers and proteins and drink plenty of water everyday. There are some excellent skin care regimens too that are available, and some are natural and organic. Use a good cleanser, usually a gel for your skin type. Then, a toner with a minimal amount of a high grade alcohol that will dry the skin and deep cleanse the pores. Always follow up with a moisturizer that will provide hydration, without adding oil to the skin. I would also recommend exfoliating with a gentle exfoliator 2 or 3 times weekly and a clay mask 1 or 2 times a week. Try this for a month or two and see how it works for you. The good news about oily skin is that is ages more slowly! Teresa
MY QUESTION:
i have an oily skin. i have pimples on face.... any natural tips to remove those pimples.....
SKIN CARE question from Sara
Hi Sara, Well, first I always recommend a trip to the dermatologist or your health care practitioner to see if you can find the cause of the acne. As you may already know everything from free radicals, diet and water intake, stress, medications, or inheritance can be the culprit. Once you've gotten a good diagnosis and are also using a skin care recommended for acne, you are ready for the next step! The best foundation for acne coverage is mineral makeup. The best is a powder formula. It does take some practice to get the coverage just right but, you can do it! The claims that mineral makeup companies are making are: pores not clogged (non-comedogenic), all natural formulations, UVA/UVB protection, anti-inflammatory (calms sensitive acne or rosacea), talc and oil free just to name a few. The coverage is also flexible. The thing to remember is to get the primer and the application brush. These steps are important and critical to the finish. For more coverage, simply reapply the powder until you get the desired look. It's easy to mix colors for a more exact color since, some times of the year your skin may be more tan than others. I always get two colors to make sure the coverage is just right! Good luck and let me know how it goes! Teresa
MY QUESTION:
if you have acne is there any way you can cover it up with makeup? and if you can what kind?
SKIN CARE question from Renuka
Dear Renuka, Thanks for your question. For this concern, I would recommend good skin care regimen. You must use it twice a day, every day. A good cleanser, toner and moisturizer that are appropriate for your skin type is necessary. Then, for makeup, I would try using a mineral makeup powder. This is very good for your skin type because it contains no talc or oils and won't clog pores, contains a natural UVA/UVB protection, uses minerals that can not support bacteria, it's anti-inflammatory, and virtually allergy free. For best results, purchase and use the primer and brush recommended with the product. Apply in layers, patting it on with the brush for even coverage. Then brush off any excess with a powder brush. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Teresa
MY QUESTION: In My Face So Many Pimple's is there What I to do? Please reply immediately
SKIN CARE question from sasikala.k
Dear Sasikala.k, I would try soaking the feet before you apply the cream. This will dampen the skin and allow the cream and olive oil to soak in better after you have applied it. It seems the cream is just sitting on top of the skin so, this may help. I would also soak your hands, as well. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
My foot skin (outside skin) is very dry, daily i am applying crack cream in backside & olive oil for fingers & frontskin. But no improvement - so pls give any tips
SKIN CARE question from Mala
Dear Mala, Thank you for your question. For oily skin, I would recommend a good skin care regimen. You have to be dedicated and perform the steps every morning and every evening. It is like exercise or brushing your teeth. It requires continued maintenance. I would also include a clay type mask for deep cleansing a couple of times a week and exfoliating at least twice a week. (I wouldn't do these two steps on the same day but, instead alternate them.) Use a good moisturizer intended for oily skin. This will keep the skin hydrated but, not add to the oiliness. (You need both oil and water for the appearance of good skin.) For your makeup, I would choose a mineral makeup powder. (Make sure you get good direction for the application of the product and do get the primer and brush recommended with the powder - I've found it DOES make a difference in the application.) Lastly, oil blotting papers are essential to keep the shine to a minimum. You can use them any time you see shine. Good luck and let me know if that helps you out! Teresa
MY QUESTION:
pls tell me abt oil skin
SKIN CARE question from Mala
Hi Mala, If your skin got sunburned, try using an aloe vera plant based gel. It is soothing and has healing properties. Also, use a good sunscreen with at least an spf 15 next time so, you don't damage your skin more. Thank you for writing in. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
if skin got sunscreen what to do?
Skin Care question from Amanda
Dear Amanda, I am not familiar with Proactive products but, I'm sure that if used as directed, they should not "fry out your face". If you are feeling too dry or sensitive after using one of their products, you may want to contact them and find out what they would recommend for your particular skin type. It could be that you are using the wrong product and that could cause a sensitivity or reaction. Another idea is to try a moisture mask for sensitive skin to replenish any moisture that may have been lost while trying to use products to address acne or oily skin. This, too, could cause redness or irritation and adding moisture could help with sensitivity, also. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
Does proactive fry out your face?
Skin Care question from Helena
Hi Helena, O.k., let's be fair....usually the people in the magazines have been professionally made up or spent hundreds in an aesthetician's chair or even plastic surgeon's office! They are given incredible budgets to take care of themselves. But you can do some things to maximize your look by following a few simple examples. First of all, take care of the "canvas" by using, twice daily, a good skin care regimen. Cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin and use an exfoliater (removes surface dead skin cells that makeup adheres to and causes the make to look blotchy), purifying mask (keeps the pores clean and therefore minimizes their appearance), and a moisturize mask to keep your skin soft and supple. There are other products like eye creams and serums for special issues like wrinkles, protection from sun and free radicals and, vitamins. Then, once you are regularly taking care of your skin, choose the appropriate foundation for your skin type. Oil free liquid for combination/oily and regular liquid for combination/dry skin. Mineral makeup powder is great for problem/acne/sensitive/rosecea skin types. Cream makeup is best for maximum coverage and really dry skin. Follow up with powder by pressing it in with the pad and brushing off the excess with a powder brush. Next, add a complimentary cheek blush, eye shadow and lip color. I hope this gives you some good tips! Teresa
MY QUESTION: I think i am really ugly and i always see pictures of people in magazines with a perfect complection, do you have any tips on how to get a perfect, even complection that doesnt look stupid?
SKIN CARE question from Phyllis
Hi Phyllis, I always start out skin care advise with the "eat right, get plenty of exercise, sleep and water" speech for your skin to look (and feel) it's best. As far as product goes you should cleanse, tone and moisturize (using only products for dry skin) twice a day. I have found that almost every brand works if you do your part. Some do work better than others but, the key is doing your part twice a day. In addition, do exfoliate (but only once a week for your skin type) but, more importantly use a moisture mask once or twice a week to really hydrate the skin. Thanks for writing in, Phyllis. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
Hi Teresa, I have very very DRY skin, I always use OLAY moisturiser daily but when I have had various makeover's they have mentioned how dry my skin is. I rarely exfoliate my skin through to laziness. Are you able to advise what is the best products to use for dry skin that is not expensive?? And if you could give me some guidance how to keep my skin soft and moisturise? Kind Regards Phyllis
SKIN CARE question from Yvonne
Hi Yvonne, It sounds like you may have combination/oily skin. The best is to use products (morning and night) for that specific skin type. There are several reasons this could be happening from not enough water, too much water, excessively oily foods, the temperature in your surroundings, to just plain genetics. Whatever the reason is you can start by cleansing, toning and moisturizing twice per day. Exfoliate once or twice per week. Use a hydrating mask (for hydration) and a clay type mask for deep cleansing the pores. When you're experiencing oilier weeks, use the clay mask 2 or 3 times per week. Hope this will help. Teresa
MY QUESTION: My skin is a mixture between oily and dry. At some points I am washing my face several times to get the oil off, and other it seems my face is too dry and I'm needing to apply lotion. I'm not sure whether to get Oil removing or dry skin face wash because if i don't have one problem it is the other. Any advice?
SKIN CARE question from Divya
Hi Divya, I am not a doctor or even an aesthetician so I cannot recommend medicine but, I can recommend that you use a skin cream that has bleaching cream in it. There are many brands but, be sure to use one that is gentle and try it on a small area (to test for reaction) before you apply to the entire area. Also, try using a concealer before foundation and follow up with powder to cover up this area. Hope this helps. Teresa
MY QUESTION:
