question from Sasha

Hi Sasha,
Great question!  The biggest trend in makeup right now seems to be the mineral makeup explosion.  They are derived from micronized minerals like mica, iron oxides, titanium dioxides and zinc oxides.  These provide rich natural colours and natural sunscreens up to spf 20.  The claims that are being made by mineral makeup companies are from no oils, no talc, fragrance free, non-comedigenic (won't clog pores), good coverage for even the most damaged skin types like rosacea and acne prone skin types, anti-inflammatory, low allergy risk to versatile, easy to apply and gentle enough to use within hours of laser resurfacing and chemical peels!  It all sounds pretty amazing. If your skin is combination, oily or you have had acne or rosacea, I would definitely recommend a mineral makeup for you. However, I have found that with dry skin, these formulas don't perform as well.  I would stick with a liquid or creme foundation as needed.  These companies also offer their secret formulas in blushes, eye shadows, lipsticks and even lip glosses that can be custom blended to your own specific needs.  That is pretty wonderful.  We hope to offer these products to you soon so keep checking back and see what's new at makeuphelp.com!
